Annual Kiwanis Community Day Tomorrow

The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville will hold their annual Community Day this Saturday, October 1st from 8 AM to 3 PM in Reeves Park. The event will include a Flea Market with more than 80 groups WHO will have items on sale or will have information about their organizations and programs. Along with the flea market, entertainment will be provided in the bandshell beginning at 11 AM with a gymnastics demonstration by members of the “Aerials” a local gymnastics club. Musical entertainment will be provided later in the day.

This year’s theme of Community Day is “Advancing Academics & Music Education” as the Kiwanis have partnered with the PAHS Band and the ‘Destinations with Directions’ student organization. All profits from Community Day will benefit these organizations and Kiwanis community programs.

As a part of Community Day, the Kiwanis Club will be selling their famous Chicken Barbecue Dinners using their famous secret recipe. The full dinners, which include a half chicken, will be available after 11 AM for the cost of only $10. The Kiwanis Club will be set up in the gazebo adjacent to the bandshell where tickets may be purchased.

"The things that sold in Paoli didn't sell in Phoenixville," she said, adding that some customers thought that the store was too expensive or the sizing did not go high enough (size 12 being the highest size sold). "We tried everything." Randels also said that parking was an issue for many of her customers who could either not find spaces or did not feel safe parking behind the store. --- Polka Dots remains open until the 16th, with hours on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number is 610-935-5914.
