From the borough website : Phoenixville's Annual 4th of July Fireworks July 04, 2011 at Friendship Field located at the corner of Fillmore Street and Franklin Avenue. Rain date is July 05, 2011. The fireworks display is scheduled for approximately 9-9:15 p.m. Visitors may park in the lot behind the reservior at Reservior Park, Franklin Commons, or the Santa Anna Club and at the Bethel Baptist Church on Fairview Street. Handicapped parking inside Friendship Field and rest facilities will be provided. Vendors will have available to buy cold refreshments, funnel cakes, french fries, and small toys. Friendship Fire Company's Dive Unit will be on hand with glow-in-the-dark trinkets for sale. Alcohol, drugs, and pets are not permitted at Friendship Field.

Phoenixville Patch has a recap of last night's council meeting during which it was announced that the annual July 4th fireworks display will indeed continue this year thanks in large part to the over $10k raised Karen Johns and the Bucks for Bangs campaign . On Sunday, July 4th, Phoenixville will once again be hosting a fireworks display as well as the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Idiotarod. The Fourth of July celebration in Phoenixville will get underway at 4 p.m. on the 4th with the second running of the Philadelphia Idiotarod, a shopping cart race that runs through the streets of Phoenixville Music will get underway at the main stage at 4 p.m. with the Deb Callahan band playing from 4 to 6 p.m. The Bands continue at 6 p.m. LG and the Road Dogs playing between the Columbia Hotel and Iron Hill Brewery on the 100 block of Bridge Street and jazz band Hidden Treasure playing at the Kiwanis children's plaza on the 200 block of Bridge Street. At 7 30 p.m. the headline act will be the Left Edge who will play until Fireworks at 9:45 p.m. The unit block of North Main Street (Main Street From Bridge to High Street) will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. to allow for people to set up chairs and watch the fireworks. This year's July 4th celebrations will start a day early to coincide with First Friday and the Summer Street Music Festival . The music festival will kick off at 6pm tomorrow night with headliner The Left Edge taking the main stage at 7:30. At around 8pm, the 100 block of Bridge Street will close so that people can position themselves for the fireworks display which is set to start at approximately 9pm 9:45pm (see below). On Saturday, the music festival, as usual, kicks off at 2pm. At the same time, the first annual Phoenixville Idiotarod will begin. Rain date for the fireworks in Sunday, July 5th. Phoenixville’s Fourth of July celebration will feature a new race component with the addition of the Philadelphia Area Idiotarod. The Idiotarod is a take off on the 1,000 mile Iditarod dog sled race. The Idiotarod features shopping carts sometimes modified for the team. Four “idiot” team members are tied to the cart, run along side of the cart and a “musher” guides the cart from the back. The race will have no course. There will be a number of stations located through the south side where the teams will be required to check-in. There will be special judges located in the race area who may disqualify teams that do not maintain continual shopping cart connection throughout the race. The team that completes the course in the best time without being disqualified or missing a station is the winner.
