Green Earth Festival 2016 is Tomorrow

On Saturday, September 17, the Phoenixville Green Team will be hosting their Green Earth Festival from 9am-1pm at the Phoenixville Farmers' Market . Living Green is the theme for this educational and fun event featuring eco-conscious exhibits, vendors, community groups and earth-friendly advocates. Updates will be provided on the new development, the Phoenixville Greenway , Trails and Open Space. It's a celebration of eco-friendly products and services, sustainable energy and transportation, local environmental advocacy and non-profits - all good for you and great for the planet! The Festival expands the Phoenixville Farmers' Market, a producer/grower market committed to providing locally grown, fresh food; to preserve our agricultural and community heritage. Sock Drive Being Held 11/19 at Phoenixville Famers Market

On Saturday, November 19th, Christy Baxter will be at the Phoenixville Farmers Market collecting socks for the homeless. Do you have a sock drawer at home? The homeless don’t! Think about it. When your clothes wear out you probably donate them to a good cause. What about your socks? They are probably so worn that they get trashed. Homeless rarely get donations of new socks. How often do you change your socks? Imagine having to wear them 24/7 until then are completely threadbare? What would that be like? You probably would have blisters, open sores, infections or worse. Gangrene may develop; that can lead to amputation. Not good. Many put plastic bags over their sock to keep out moisture and cold, but they also keep the foot damp, causing minor to major health complications. How many homeless? Phoenixville Green Earth Festival to be held Saturday, August 6th

Phoenixville is going green at the second annual Green Earth Festival on the Schuylkill River Trail on August 6 from 9AM – 2PM. The festival will celebrate area businesses and service groups that are working to make Phoenixville a sustainable community. Organized by the Phoenixville Green Team , in association with the Farmer’s Market , the market and festival will stretch along the creek side trail from Taylor Ave to the Foundry. The event features exhibitors, food, music, children’s entertainment and a Speaker Forum. Our first GoodGreenWorks project invites everyone to bring good clothing and shoes to the Clothing Swap and Shoe Drop. Participation art projects will encourage everyone to craft several public art creations with clay and chalk. Phoenixville Farmer's Market Opening Day is Saturday

From the Phoenixville Farmer's Market e-Newsletter: Opening day for the season is this coming Saturday, May 9th! Come join us as we celebrate the opening of the season. The market will be open from 9am to 1pm in our regular location, the municipal parking lot behind Family Dollar. The weather forecast looks rain free for tomorrow morning, but we will be here rain or shine. The farmers are harvesting the freshest available produce for the market and the bakers are busily proofing bread dough and baking cookies, all for our delight! This Week... We have a great season ahead of us and everyone is busily getting into gear for the warm weather. Herb, vegetable, and ornamental plants are here, ready for you to enjoy in your own garden this year.
