Hands Only CPR Information Session To Be Held This Wednesday

On Wednesday, July 23rd, Snyder Family Chiropractic in conjunction with Griffin Training will be hosting a Hands Only CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) information session. Hands Only CPR provides live saving assistance to those in sudden cardiac arrest. Designed for the general public, this form of CPR provides compressions only, no mouth to mouth breathing.

Iron Hill Featuring Special BlobFest Inspired Food & Beverage Offerings This Saturday

On Saturday, July 12 from 12 noon until 8 p.m., Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (130 East Bridge Street, 610-983-9333) will join in the festivities during Phoenixville’s annual BLOBfest, celebrating the cult-classic horror movie The BLOB. The film will be shown at the nearby Colonial Theatre (227 Bridge Street, 610-917-0223), before and after screenings, fans are invited to Iron Hill for the release of Cherry Blob, our award-winning Belgian-style tripel brewed with tart Michigan Montmorency cherries, as well as two special menu options: a TV Dinner for $20.95 or a multi-course BLOB Tasting Menu for $40 per person, including beer pairings with each course.

“Every year, BLOB fans take over the town of Phoenixville, and we’re happy to be a part of the fun, creating fun retro dishes and brewing a special BLOB beer as a part of the celebration,” says Head Brewer Tim Stumpf. “This year’s Cherry Blob is a terrific summer beer, and it goes perfectly with our fun, irreverent menu additions, all inspired by the classic film.”

Cherry Blob is a twist on Iron Hill’s award-winning Tripel, brewed with cherries for color and tart, refreshing flavor. The TV Dinner will include: Kobe Salisbury Steak with morel mushroom gravy; Fried Risotto Balls; Beer-Glazed Carrots; and Peach Cobbler. The BLOB Tasting Menu will include: Fried Mac’n’Cheese Blobs with sweet and spicy tomato sauce, paired with Vienna Red Lager; Char-Grilled Pork Porterhouse with bacon fat roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus and red cherry blob sauce, paired with Cherry Blob; and Red Velvet Bread Pudding with marshmallow blobs, paired with Abbey Dubbel.

BlobFest Returns this Weekend

BlobFest is set to return this weekend. Things kick off on Friday night with a stage show followed by the popular “Run Out” reenactment. Saturday features the StreetFair with live music by rockabilly band Full Blown Cherry and, at noon, the Fire Extinguisher Parade as well contests throughout the afternoon. All weekend long the Colonial Theatre will be showing The Blob and other cult classics. Joining the fun this year will be Mystery Science Theater 3000’s Joel Hodgson who will help judge both the Costume and Trivia Contests on Saturday afternoon.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The 15th annual BlobFest, The Colonial Theatre's kitschy, family-friendly event saluting the 1958 classic sci-fi movie The Blob, will take place July 11th through 13th at the theatre in Phoenixville, PA. The Blob was filmed in and around Phoenixville, and The Colonial Theatre plays a key role in the film. The theme of this year’s ‘Fest is “Clash of the Kaiju,” and features a celebration of Japanese monster films of the early 1960s.
