On Friday, October 28, the Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting A Sweet Evening Under the Stars, their annual charity event. This year's event will be held at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve, 100 Golf Club Drive, Phoenixville, PA.

The Chamber is very excited and pleased to open up our RSVP for our Annual Charity Event!

Please join us for a Sweet Evening Under the Stars at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve on Friday, October 28th. This event helps to celebrate the amazing non-profits in the area. The evening will include a delicious meal, great live music, a wonderful cocktail hour, a silent auction as well as a live auction, a raffle and more! We look forward to seeing you there! Located just a couple of miles from downtown to Phoenixville, the G Lodge has been a go to spot for breakfast and lunch for over 34 years. It was even featured in M.Night Shyamalan's 'The Happening'. Daily specials are listed above the counter, and there’s a lot on the menu as well. My eyes to always be bigger than my stomach here, though I’ve never sprung for the G-Buster special. Unlike many diner fans I am not a fan of breakfast homefries so I love that they have potato patties (deep fried!) as an option.

Local Baker Wins on Netflix Sugar Rush

Peri Anderson, owner of Brooklyn Girl Bakery, was part of a team that won the most recent episode of Sugar Rush on Netflix. I reached out to Peri to learn a little more about her bakery:
I started out taking a recreational cake decorating class with my mom when I was still living in NY. I loved it and moved to PA to be with my boyfriend (now husband), where I began interning for a bakery in Chestnut Hill. Over the course of 7 years I worked my way up from intern to pastry chef until I decided to leave in 2012. I do all of my baking in our home kitchen which is licensed and insured by the Dept. of Agriculture. Initially, I wanted to focus on wedding cakes so I immediately started contacting wedding venues in the area to see if they would include me a wedding cake vendor in their packages. I currently work with over 10 venues and several caterers in the area. While wedding cakes are my main focus, I also make cakes and cookie favors for all occasions.
