The Better Together Church Street Block Party is a gathering of over 25 local non-profits and small businesses that serve the greater Phoenixville Area. The Main Event will take place in the parking lot of the Phoenixville Area Senior Center, 153 Main Street. The Phoenixville Fire Department, A Baby's Breath, and Code Blue Overnight Emergency Warming Center will have Open Houses. There will be face painting, balloons, kids' crafts, story hour, a performance by the wonderful Firebird Theatre, a DJ, and much more! The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission is hosting a discussion on the 'Economic Value of Open Space' on Tuesday, March 29th. About the discussion: The basic function of the meeting is for people to learn about DVRPC and how they can get involved in the regional planning process as residents of the Delaware Valley. These meetings are part of a series of listening sessions held around the region. Our goal is to reach those in the Greater Philadelphia region to inform them about DVRPC plans and programs and public participation activities, such as membership on the RCC. We hope these meetings will provide an opportunity for a continuing dialogue between the public and DVRPC regarding the most important issues facing the region. In addition, we have a presentation on a recent DVRPC plan, program or study. The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area is excited to announce the opening of our new exhibit which has its grand opening on Friday evening, March 5, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Society's headquarters located at 204 Church Street in Phoenixville, PA. It coincides with other First Fruiday events occurring in Phoenixville. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. This exhibit has many photographs and memorabilia.
