Phoenixville Council approves parking authority disbandment, future uncertain

Todays' Phoenix reports that last night Borough Council voted unanimously to approve the Phoenixville Parking Authority's resolution to disband. The PPA will continue to enforce parking regulations through November 6th at which point the Phoenixville Police Department "could issue tickets in the lots – whether or not that’s going to happen has not been decided."

[Borough Manager Jean] Krack urged everyone to check the Borough website, www.phoenixville.org, for the most up-to-date information on the downtown parking situation. Residents should see information on the website in the next couple of days.

I don't get this at all.Why is there no need for a parking authority six months after they deemed it necessary?
