Local Business Spotlight: That Italian Place

On August 13th, Phoenixville a new face to its already vibrant restaurant scene. That Italian Place, located at 150 Bridge Street, opened its doors and has already been getting rave reviews. Co-owner Stephanie Pennisi took a moment to talk about her new venture and is our most recent Local Business Spotlight:

That Italian Place
Market and Brick Oven Pizza
150 Bridge Street
(610) 935-1800
Hours: Mon-Thurs 11-9, Fri-Sat 11-11, Sun 11-8

That Italian Place, is owned by Andy and Stephanie Pennisi. We opened up our doors on August 13th. Andy, originally from Brooklyn, NY brings his 20+ years of experience in the restaurant business to this new location and has created many new recipes to make anyone's mouth salivate for more! Me (Stephanie), originally from the neighboring Collegeville area is in charge of Marketing the restaurant. We have an 11-month old son, Luca, who you'll see a couple of our specials named after.

We currently offer Italian Specialties including gourmet cheeses, olives, prepared dinners to go, homemade sauces, brick oven gourmet pizza and a full take out menu including Stromboli's, Brooklyn Hero's, salads, pasta dishes and entrees. A retail section is coming soon that will include oils, vinegars and other Italian specialties.

There are a few tables for dining in at this time; however, we will soon expand in the next couple of months, into the store front formerly known as Bistro 156. With the expansion will come additional seating, BYOB, additional menu items, desserts, pastries and much more! And we also know how much everyone wants delivery...that's coming soon as well!

Look for our Grand Opening in late September! Our web site is currently being created so we'll let everyone know when its up and running!

Hope to see you soon! Mangia!

Best of luck to Andy and Stephanie!

Had some sandwiches and stuffed olives and they were pretty darn good. My wife had some lasagna and she really liked that dish. I think its a great addition as we needed a really good Italian alternative to Franco's and this is the answer. The pizza is really, really good coming out of that brick oven makes it really crispy with a great smokey taste.

The food IS delicious. Meatball sandwich is great. I hope they will sell their meatballs with sauce in the freezer case, perhaps by the dozen. It would be nice to be able to buy something like that for entertaining, can just throw then in a crockpot and buy some rolls. The pizza was great too.
A few more side type dishes, maybe prepared salads, would be a good addition.

I've eaten there twice, and I'm sure that number will sky rocket as school starts back up. The pizza is great, and I grabbed some of their frozen pastas and made them at home.
I love this addition to Bridge St.!

Great addition to Phoenixville! We've tried two of the pizzas, the pepper shooters, and took home some of the frozen pasta for later. Delicious all around, and the prices are quite good, especially considering the meteoric price increase at Franco's in the last few weeks (what are they thinking???).

I look forward to the full dining room opening up so we can have an affordable Italian meal out with the family!

We were there on the restaurant's opening night and food was excellent. Everything was fresh. The bread is from the Collegeville Bakery and a lot of stuff is from Brooklyn, NY. Being from North Jersey we really missed a good local Italian place without having to head to Philly or West Chester. A must try for all.

Best of luck to Stephanie and Andy.

I've tried a couple different type of foods now including sandwiches and pizzas. I thought the pizza was pretty good, but the italian grinder I got was something unique. I really liked it. I saw that the Ristorante is now open. I am going to try that and see if that will fit the bill!

By far the best pizza in town....just that service isn't so great. Walked in and placed an order of 2 salads and a large cheese pizza. They told me 25 minutes....I returned after 30 minutes, pizza was done none of the salads were. Had to wait another 15 minutes for the salads. By the time I got home my pizza was cold from sitting on top of the oven waiting for the salads.
