Phoenixville Area Soccer Club Announces New Director of Coaching and Travel Soccer Tryouts

Phoenixville Area Soccer Club (PASC) is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Pryor to its staff of coaches in the role of Director of Coaching. Michael brings enthusiasm and experience to the position, and begins his tenure overseeing Fall Travel tryouts next week.

"It's my responsibility to ensure that each player's development is our top priority," says Pryor. "One of my favorite parts of coaching is watching players develop a love for the game that is everlasting. I feel that the memories made and the relationships formed are as important as the soccer skills learned."

Pryor's coaching credentials include his role as Academy Director at Total Soccer, Asst Coach at Wilkes University, and Head Coach at Wyoming Area High School, in addition to coaching locally. His playing experience includes club ball at Wyoming Valley Soccer Club (1998-2005), high school soccer at
Coughlin High School (2002-2004), and college soccer at West Chester University (2005-2009).

"I've had an amazing soccer journey," Pryor continues, "and I am deeply connected to this area. My goal as DOC is simple: to create a fun and challenging learning environment that fosters a love of the game in every player who steps onto our fields in Phoenixville."

Local Baker Wins on Netflix Sugar Rush

Peri Anderson, owner of Brooklyn Girl Bakery, was part of a team that won the most recent episode of Sugar Rush on Netflix. I reached out to Peri to learn a little more about her bakery:
I started out taking a recreational cake decorating class with my mom when I was still living in NY. I loved it and moved to PA to be with my boyfriend (now husband), where I began interning for a bakery in Chestnut Hill. Over the course of 7 years I worked my way up from intern to pastry chef until I decided to leave in 2012. I do all of my baking in our home kitchen which is licensed and insured by the Dept. of Agriculture. Initially, I wanted to focus on wedding cakes so I immediately started contacting wedding venues in the area to see if they would include me a wedding cake vendor in their packages. I currently work with over 10 venues and several caterers in the area. While wedding cakes are my main focus, I also make cakes and cookie favors for all occasions. While I don’t have a retail locatio…
