Phoenixville Area Soccer Club Announces New Director of Coaching and Travel Soccer Tryouts

Phoenixville Area Soccer Club (PASC) is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Pryor to its staff of coaches in the role of Director of Coaching. Michael brings enthusiasm and experience to the position, and begins his tenure overseeing Fall Travel tryouts next week.

"It's my responsibility to ensure that each player's development is our top priority," says Pryor. "One of my favorite parts of coaching is watching players develop a love for the game that is everlasting. I feel that the memories made and the relationships formed are as important as the soccer skills learned."

Pryor's coaching credentials include his role as Academy Director at Total Soccer, Asst Coach at Wilkes University, and Head Coach at Wyoming Area High School, in addition to coaching locally. His playing experience includes club ball at Wyoming Valley Soccer Club (1998-2005), high school soccer at
Coughlin High School (2002-2004), and college soccer at West Chester University (2005-2009).

"I've had an amazing soccer journey," Pryor continues, "and I am deeply connected to this area. My goal as DOC is simple: to create a fun and challenging learning environment that fosters a love of the game in every player who steps onto our fields in Phoenixville."

The You Are Worth It Foundation is a grassroots homeless and in-need outreach group from Phoenixville, PA. Around Phoenixville recently asked Chris Brickhouse for some more information about the Foundation and how you can help: Tell us a little about You Are Worth It and how it got started: We are a homeless outreach organizations serving Phoenixville, Pottstown, Norristown, Center City and Kensington in Philly and constantly expanding. We were formed in early 2018 by Dina Rowan and I came on board last June. We have roughly 15 volunteers so far and would like to expand that to expand our reach. Public meeting to discuss future of Melchiorre Park scheduled for Nov. 29th

On Thursday, November 29th, the Borough is holding a 'brainstorming session' in which plans for Melchiorre Park will be discussed with its park planning consultants. The event will be held at the High School and will begin 7pm. For those of you who do not know about Melchiorre Park (of which I am included, even though I apparently live across the street from it), it is a 23 acre park located south of High Street on the land between it and French Creek. It appears, based on the drawing on the Borough home page , to be the land that is next to Westridge Village and across the street from the new Northridge Village community. As part of the meeting, the consultants will 'provide a brief background of the project and present a pre-final master plan for the park'. Source: Phoenixville Borough Website
