November Movie Night at Phoenixville Public Library

The next Movie Night at Phoenixville Public Library, Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 PM, will feature “Pulp Fiction” (1994, rated R, running time 154 min.), next in our countdown of the American Film Institute’s “100 Greatest Movies”. John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson lead an offbeat cast in Quentin Tarantino’s stylish crime trilogy depicting a day in the life of a criminal community. Inspired by Black Mask magazine, the film is a clever, almost gleeful look at everyday life on the fringes of mainstream society. This event is free and open to the public. Several Local Businesses Closing Up Shop

Over the next couple of months, three local businesses will be closing their doors. On Saturday, February 16th, Polka Dots will be closing their store at 246 Bridge Street. The shop, a women's clothing boutique, opened nearly two and a half years ago but has recently found business slow. --- Originally, (owner Susan) Randels said that the store was doing well, but that the momentum could not keep up. "The things that sold in Paoli didn't sell in Phoenixville," she said, adding that some customers thought that the store was too expensive or the sizing did not go high enough (size 12 being the highest size sold). "We tried everything." Local Non-Profit Spotlight: You Are Worth It Foundation

The You Are Worth It Foundation is a grassroots homeless and in-need outreach group from Phoenixville, PA. Around Phoenixville recently asked Chris Brickhouse for some more information about the Foundation and how you can help: Tell us a little about You Are Worth It and how it got started: We are a homeless outreach organizations serving Phoenixville, Pottstown, Norristown, Center City and Kensington in Philly and constantly expanding. We were formed in early 2018 by Dina Rowan and I came on board last June. We have roughly 15 volunteers so far and would like to expand that to expand our reach. We take donated items directly to the people. We provide them with a hot meal and new or lightly used clothing and self-care products. We have long term goals of a mobile shower center, vocational training and assisting with housing in any way possible. What kind of items do you need?
