101 Bridge Closed?

Several commentors in a previous post have mentioned the possible closing of 101 Bridge. Does anyone have any official info?

Update 6/25/09: The 101 website indicates that it will be rebranded as a Baxter's.

Will it be the same Baxter's menu, etc, as their other locations, or will it still be the higher tiered-type menu being served when it was 101 Bridge?

I know people that work there and no one has heard any of the sort. It's all speculation.

nothing is usually said about a restaurant/bar closing until it happens, or everyone would quit to go somewhere else beforehand.
i hope it stays open though- good menu and nice people

It's odd the timing of the closing considering there is alot going on the next three weeks downtown. Hopefully it's decided to re-open sooner rather then later.

I was just in on Saturday, June 20, and had a great meal. There did not seem to be any indication of trouble, and the place was busy. The odd thing is that I checked my CC account today and found a second charge. I tried calling 101 and got no answer, not even a recording. I hope the CC can resovle this.

the food at 101 bridge was mediocre at best nice building but the food didn't cut it. there are much better places to eat. Beccas restaurant opened three weeks ago not even a mile away at 19 s whitehorse rd in phoenixville and the food is incredible. There is a restaurant boom happening in phoenixville. the weak ones will fall the good ones will prosper

I also was not very impressed with the meal I had there. I had a tiny crabcake on a cold obviously grocery-store bought potato roll, and frozen shoestring frenchfries. My husband's meal was also mediocre at best. I'm not sorry to see it go.

Well it looks like they are going back to their roots as a Baxter's type set up.

Yes, I went by 101 last night. There are signs up indicating Baxter's @ Bridge 101. The menu board outside has Baxter's menu. What a great change. The items on the menu look much more approachable to Ville-ians and a lower price point.

Went to 101 twice and found the food mediocre and pricing about twice what it deserved to be. I would have loved to go more often but just couldn't see wasting the money. Went elswhere instead. They should have made it a Baxter's to begin with and hopefully this will be better for all.

To "VC" who said....new menu will appeal to Ville-ians, i.e. cheap...not everyone in the borough has a problem paying more for GOOD food. 101 was mediocre at best, and that's being nice...I've never eaten at a Baxter's, but I hear they are just as bad. It's a shame when we do have wonderful restaurants like Majolica that have to "cheapen up" to stay in business in this town...they'll probably end up closing again because they aren't making any margin!

I ate there once, and thought what many thought "This is too expensive for the food they served" Baxter's food is not great, but it's your typical pub food at a pub price. Molly's service is terrible, Iron Hill is overcrowded, and PJ's crowd is too young. I think a Baxter's can survive if they run it well.

The food at the old 101 Bridge was some of the best food I've ever eaten. Now the food is like all the others in town.
