Pasta Dinner This Weekend For A Great Cause

On Saturday Sunday, October 12th, the Kimberton Fire Company will be hosting a pasta dinner, bake sale and raffle. The proceeds from the event will go to the family of Trey Love, a 23 month old who has been diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer.

The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. Tickets for this benefit are $10 for adults, and $5 for children (12 & under) and are available in advance and at the door. For tickets, please call Joanne Love at 610-935-4946 or Shelly Smith at 610-933-1019.

I had the chance to see little Trey in action on Saturday at the Community Day. What a cutie! I believe I also saw his parents. They reminded me so much of my husband and me. I couldn't imagine going through what they are, but they both seemed so happy and strong at Community Day. If they or anyone from Trey's family read this, please know that I pray for your little guy and that I think of you often.

Over the next couple of months, three local businesses will be closing their doors. On Saturday, February 16th, Polka Dots will be closing their store at 246 Bridge Street. Barry Cassidy Addresses Downtown Rumors

Today's Phoenix ran an article written by Barry Cassidy in which he addressed the various rumors that have been circulating regarding the immediate futures of several local businesses. He paints a much rosier picture than some of the comments here would have you believe. From the article: --- On Monday someone came in and told me Molly Maguire's was closing.
