Annual Kiwanis Community Day Tomorrow

The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville will hold their annual Community Day this Saturday, October 1st from 8 AM to 3 PM in Reeves Park. The event will include a Flea Market with more than 80 groups WHO will have items on sale or will have information about their organizations and programs. Along with the flea market, entertainment will be provided in the bandshell beginning at 11 AM with a gymnastics demonstration by members of the “Aerials” a local gymnastics club. Musical entertainment will be provided later in the day. This year’s theme of Community Day is “Advancing Academics & Music Education” as the Kiwanis have partnered with the PAHS Band and the ‘Destinations with Directions’ student organization. All profits from Community Day will benefit these organizations and Kiwanis community programs. Ghost Tours of Phoenixville

For a fun and different kind of night, take a ghostly tour of Phoenixville. Experience the history – and mystery – of the most haunted borough in Pennsylvania. A 90-minute walking tour is like a paranormal party! The tour leaves at 8 pm on every Friday and Saturday night in October 2011. Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce Hosting Annual Charity Event

Oktoberfest Pub Crawl Coming October 8th

On Saturday, October 8th, downtown Phoenixville will host the Oktoberfest Pub Crawl. The bars included are Bistro on Bridge, Franco Ristorante, PJ Ryans, Columbia, Mollys, Pickering & Pepperoncini Sotto. It's an indoor event that starts at 12 and goes until 8 (or however late everyone wants to party). Each bar will be decorated much like Drinko de Mayo but in an Oktoberfest fashion. Phoenixville's First "Give Back to the Community Day" to be held this Saturday

This Saturday, September 24, from 4 pm to 7 pm, come out to the basketball courts at Valley Forge Christian College for the first "Give Back to the Community Day". When Phoenixville community activist Mike Ellis recently noticed that Phoenixville has never had a "Give Back to the Community Day", it set off a chain of events that will culminate in this weekend's Giveback event that has a focus on the kids. Ellis and professional basketball player Tai Crutchfield will be at the courts to give a free basketball clinic to those 11 and older. Ellis and Crutchfield worked with Dolly Winston this summer as coaches for the Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives league. A bond was formed and plans to continue teaching the local youth move forward with this event. Ellis feels Phoenixville can become a major basketball training ground for kids with events like this. Renaissance Academy Haunted House - Industrial Accident Dead Zone!

This October, the Renaissance Academy will be hosting a haunted house in Franklin Commons . Come experience a frighteningly good time! There will be activities for kids of all ages including the main event, our Haunted House – sorry, no “chicken” refunds, so enter at your own risk! Craft & Activities Area for younger ghosts and ghouls (donations appreciated). The haunted house will be open to the public on October 14th, 15th, 21st & 22nd from 6-9pm. Phoenixville Area Entrepreneur Expo Being Held October 8th

The Phoenixville Area Entrepreneur Expo is coming to Franklin Commons on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 12-5pm Plans for the day include guest speakers, a panel of entrepreneurs, networking opportunities, children’s activities, door prizes and a helping of entrepreneur-related advice and news.
