Reminders, Celtic Street Fair, Dogwood Festival and Restaurant Festival

Plenty going on in Phoenixville over the next week or so starting tomorrow with the 5th Annual Celtic Street Fair. The fair, which features live music, dancers, vendors and food will be held on the 200 block of Bridge Street from Fair will be held on the 200 block of Bridge Street and will run from 10am-5:30pm.

The Dogwood Festival will celebrating its 60th Anniversary when it begins on Monday. The annual celebration features rides and games for the entire family and is held from 6-10pm next Monday-Friday and from 12-10pm on Saturday at Reeves Park. Also on Saturday, the Dogwood Parade will make its way through town beginning at 1pm. For more information, visit phoenixvilledogwoodfestival.org.

Wrapping up the week, the first ever Phoenixville Restaurant Festival will be held next Saturday from 11am-6pm.

Several Local Businesses Closing Up Shop

Over the next couple of months, three local businesses will be closing their doors. On Saturday, February 16th, Polka Dots will be closing their store at 246 Bridge Street. The shop, a women's clothing boutique, opened nearly two and a half years ago but has recently found business slow. --- Originally, (owner Susan) Randels said that the store was doing well, but that the momentum could not keep up. Barry Cassidy Addresses Downtown Rumors

Today's Phoenix ran an article written by Barry Cassidy in which he addressed the various rumors that have been circulating regarding the immediate futures of several local businesses. He paints a much rosier picture than some of the comments here would have you believe. From the article: --- On Monday someone came in and told me Molly Maguire's was closing.
