La Crêperie Café Bis has a sign on its front door informing customers that it is now closed. Those who hold a gift certificate can have it redeemed at their Center City location.
Over the next couple of months, three local businesses will be closing their doors. On Saturday, February 16th, Polka Dots will be closing their store at 246 Bridge Street. The shop, a women's clothing boutique, opened nearly two and a half years ago but has recently found business slow. --- Originally, (owner Susan) Randels said that the store was doing well, but that the momentum could not keep up. "The things that sold in Paoli didn't sell in Phoenixville," she said, adding that some customers thought that the store was too expensive or the sizing did not go high enough (size 12 being the highest size sold). "We tried everything." Randels also said that parking was an issue for many of her customers who could either not find spaces or did not feel safe parking behind the store. --- Polka Dots remains open until the 16th, with hours on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The phone number is 610-935-5914. I agree it's a shame, but I always thought the service was dreadful and the food was so-so. here's an account of my experiences there:

a bakery would be awesome...I've heard that Eliza's makes some fantastic cakes, but I've never had a chance to try one.
Au Revoir....
Can't say I'm gonna miss you!!!
I would LOVE to see a sushi/hibachi place to up in town.
If you want to know, maybe just email Henry Wagner, at ___________?
The creperie definitely did themselves in with their lack of service (even when we were the only ones in there...what were they doing?). I went there many times becasue the food was delicious, but knew it was only a matter of time due to the poor service. What a shame.
As for the bakery - I stopped in once to ask if she baked rolls and she looked at me like I had two heads, LOL. Was that too much to ask? I never went back. I can say that I did the same at JoeysII. I made a comment to the owner when the store first opened up and he looked right through me. After gettin my wing orders mixed up a few more times I decided to go elsewhere. Thats the way it goes.
Good god, I hope there's no Startbucks. No more coffee.

The service was slow and the waiter was horrifically rude. We came in an hour before closing and after it took us 45 minutes to get our dinner crepes he let us sit there for 20+ minutes with empty plates in front of us, despite the fact that were were one of two tables left in the place. (My boyfriend even left at one point to feed the meter a few blocks away and came back and our plates were still not cleared.)
When he finally decided to come over to us we asked if we could order dessert and he sniped that the kitchen was closed. So I got upset and told him I wanted to speak to a manager and he started yelling at us and told us to get out. I have NEVER been treated like that at a restaurant and as a former restaurant server myself, I can tell you that's not how you treat customers.
I am making it my personal mission to start a bad word of mouth campaign on them! I hope all their stupid locations go out of business!
