Covered Bridges Talk at Phoenixville Public Library

“Pennsylvania Dutch Covered Bridges”, a free presentation for the whole family by Local Historian Gerry Kershner, will be given on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 PM at Phoenixville Public Library. Find out why bridges were covered, when the first covered bridge was built in the U.S., and the meaning of the terms ‘arch’, ‘portal’, and ‘trunnel’. Born and raised in northern Berks County speaking Pennsylvania German and English, Gerry Kershner writes and does photography from his home in northern Lancaster County. This event is open to the public. Reservations are required.
