Tyler James Pub opens its doors

On Sunday, Phoenixville's newest bar, The Tyler James Pub, opened its doors. Located at 210-212 Bridge Street (formerly occupied by Jester's Sports Bar), Tyler James offers 12 beers on tap as well as a full menu of pub fare. The pub has numerous TVs for sports viewing as well as a pool table, electronic dart boards, arcade games and a shuffleboard table.

Good luck to Steve Blair and his staff. Hopefully the reviews will be a bit more positive than the early ones another local establishment has garnered.

Well, this place can't possibly be worse than Jester's, can it? That place was terrible.

Looks like a good place to go! I just wish they would eliminate smoking all together. One of the problems with Jester's was you walked in and immediately transformed into a human cigarette.

Anyway, good luck to Tyler James Pub!

My BF and I went on Sat for a late lunch. Overall we were quite pleased. The menu is mostly pub sandwiches - which suited us. We each had a sandwich (quite large) served hot and with a generous portion of french fries. Two sandwiches, a few draft beers and soda cost about $30. The front of the restaurant was remodeled and brighter with a new tile floor.
They added a good selection of TVs. The back part was still dark and did not seemed changed since Jesters. It will be good to see what future remodeling brings as well as the upstairs banquet room. The bartender mentioned the plan for upstairs was a nightclub - we hope they have a selection of live music that appeals to all age groups. Live Blues or Jazz be great IMHO. We wish them luck...they could have a winner if they sustain the good food and service.

The O.P.S were the reason Phoenixville was a disaster area for so long. Time for some new ideas....If you want to smoke in a seedy, unwelcoming bar move to Norristown. Face it times are a-changing my friend.
