Destiny Brewpub officially closed

First off, Happy New Year everyone. I apologize for the lack of posts. My wife and I had our first child in September and thus my ability to get out and about has been severly limited. And as it seems very difficult to get information about the goings on in downtown Phoenixville via the local paper, my fact finding missions have all but ceased.

Enough of the exscuses. It seems that the 'Reopening Soon' sign on the Destiny Brewpub door was a bit misleading. I am sure it will be reopening, but not as Destiny. There are several signs indicating that the space is for sale or lease. Not sure if the restaurant on the main level is also for sale however.

Not too surprised by this, it was a bit off the beaten path and the layout was strange. Food was good however and it would have been nice to see them integrate the main floor a little better as I think it could have had a chance had they done so.

Here's to hoping something worthwhile takes its spot.

as far as the phoenix and their lack of news, karin williams was apparently out on maternity leave as well. it looks like she's back, so we may start to get more than a word-for-word copy of the police blotter for a front page. the paper is bad, but what do you expect when you pay your reporters eight bucks an hour and your editor clearly shows no interest in the town?
i'm sorry we lost destiny brewpub. i never truly made it in there- shades of the old smelly moose hall kept me away. iron hill on the other hand is great, though they could shake up that menu occasionally.

Barry Cassidy Addresses Downtown Rumors

Today's Phoenix ran an article written by Barry Cassidy in which he addressed the various rumors that have been circulating regarding the immediate futures of several local businesses. He paints a much rosier picture than some of the comments here would have you believe. From the article: --- On Monday someone came in and told me Molly Maguire's was closing.
