Phoenix Writers Group Debuts at Phoenixville Public Library

Phoenix Writers, a group for adult writers, will have its first meeting at Phoenixville Public Library on Monday, June 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Meeting monthly on the first Monday of the month, the group will offer writers education, empowerment, and constructive criticism. The sessions will be led by local author Raymond Rose and will provide writers the opportunity to ask questions about the writing process, read their work out loud, and receive and offer input on the material read. Writers wishing to have their work critiqued should submit their work to Raymond Rose prior to each meeting. The group is free and open to the public. Several Local Businesses Closing Up Shop

Over the next couple of months, three local businesses will be closing their doors. On Saturday, February 16th, Polka Dots will be closing their store at 246 Bridge Street. The shop, a women's clothing boutique, opened nearly two and a half years ago but has recently found business slow. --- Originally, (owner Susan) Randels said that the store was doing well, but that the momentum could not keep up. "The things that sold in Paoli didn't sell in Phoenixville," she said, adding that some customers thought that the store was too expensive or the sizing did not go high enough (size 12 being the highest size sold). Local Business Spotlight: The Fenix

As mentioned a couple of months back , Phoenixville will soon be home to a premium martini and whiskey bar. Named The Fenix, it is owned by the owners of Molly Maguire's and will be located right next door to Molly's at 193 Bridge Stret. The Fenix hopes to have a soft opening tonight or tomorrow with a grand opening coming in September.
