Route 23 to be closed during day tomorrow through Friday

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd, and ending on Friday the 24th, Route 23 will be closed between Pawlings Rd. and Ferry Lane for 'Cinema Production'. On Wednesday and Thursday, the road will be closed from 9am-3pm. On Friday, it will be closed from 9am-9pm.

The PennDOT site indicates that detour signs will be up to help direct traffic. I would imagine they will direct you north to the intersection of Ferry and Pawlings.

Thanks to reader Brian for pointing out the fact that signs were put up earlier this week.

Update: It appears that the reason for the closing is the filming of M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, The Happening which starts Mark Wahlberg. For more information on the movie, see IMDB.com

I've got some photos of Mark on my blog. I work across the street from the G-Lodge.

So, what happened to the G-Lodge. It's all new signs and a silly new name (not that anyone will ever use it).

Did they change it for the movie? Is it staying? Is it new management?

Curious minds want to know...

There was an article in last week's Phoenix (sorry, I don't have a link) that seemed to indicate the signs were brought in solely for the shoot and that it will remain the G-Lodge.

Does anyone have any idea where they are shooting now? I will give ANYTHING to catch a glimpse of Mark Wahlberg!

We have long term goals of a mobile shower center, vocational training and assisting with housing in any way possible. What kind of items do you need? We take a wide array of items - individually packaged food, canned goods, ramen, protein bars, water, s...

Barry Cassidy Addresses Downtown Rumors

Today's Phoenix ran an article written by Barry Cassidy in which he addressed the various rumors that have been circulating regarding the immediate futures of several local businesses. He paints a much rosier picture than some of the comments here would have you believe. From the article: --- On Monday someone came in and told me Molly Maguire's was closing. I knew that was not correct because they are expanding, not closing. Then about 20 minutes after than I heard from someone else that 101 was closing and the building was going to become a McDonalds. I knew that was not correct either. Marietu' Fanny from the crepe joint at Bridge and Gay called me and was upset that she heard someone at the business association meeting say she was closing... She went on to tell me that they were doing well... Then I heard probably the most outrageous rumor of all... Ellie's Choice is closing. Now think about this one, folks. Here, Ellie has been here for a long time, she was here ...
