The ONLY way out of that driveway is to make a right on State Road and at 7am no one wants to let you out in front of them. Due to the bridge being out, which I used to go to and from work, I use Whitehorse to pothouse to state road. It is hard enough getting around and it doesn't need to get harder because people have to sit for a few minutes extra. People shouldn't have to add even more time to their commute because you want to close roads to avoid backups. If you don't like how long you have to sit at a certain light, find another way around! Don't force everyone to reroute because you can't sit in traffic. The inconvenience isn't going to last forever...deal with it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29962318.post-41312400104010483912015-04-27T12:59:53.781-04:002015-04-27T12:59:53.781-04:00Hi Maryanne. For the last few months construction on 23 caused rerouting down Pickering. That is now complete.
2. And now the bridge closing.

IMO, the cutting through is a result of the traffic being so bad. My thinking was that by removing the Whitehorse/Pothouse light, traffic is lightened and the incentive to cut through is then reduced.Dan Enoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29962318.post-88240571443646518182015-04-24T13:55:01.024-04:002015-04-24T13:55:01.024-04:00No thank you!!! First t...Opening Night at Deuces Wild Comedy Club

First thing to note is that even though the club is part of the valley forge casino, it is located on the lower level of the Radisson. The tables and booths create an intimate ‘U’ shape around the stage, giving everyone a great view of the stage and close contact to the comedian. There is a two drink minimum, non-alcoholic drinks are included in that, but let’s be honest enjoy the wine, beer or cocktails and settle in for a great night ahead. The food was decent but you should go in expecting ballpark pub fare, not to worry, whatever calories you may ingest will be burned off with laughter.

So that’s the venue setup, now to the important part – the show! There were three comedians, including headliner Joey Gay. The MC (Matt Scarpelli) did a great job of firing up the crowd and filling in between comedians. Each comedian went on for 15-20 minutes. The opening comedian (Pat House) had the crowd roaring. He made one joke about a random passerby noting how cute a couple his mom and he made; oddly a similar thing occurred to my father and me over the weekend. The second comedian (Patrick Dodd) was my least favorite but hey there always has to be one. He had a few funny lines but overall his set was not as well received.

Finally, the headliner was up. A native of Brooklyn, Joey Gay has an impressive resume, including NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” He’s performed onstage at clubs like New York’s “Caroline’s on Broadway”, “Comedy Village”, “Laugh Factory” and “Catch a Rising Star”. As an actor, he’s had roles in NBC’s “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Deadline,” as well as in MTV’s “Damage Control. He opened his set mocking the stage which included a mechanical bull – it is a country western bar after all, and from that first joke captured the audience. Comedians, like most entertainers, push the envelope at times but was every joke racy – far from it. My favorite actually being when Gay started singing Sweet Caroline and held the mic to the crowd to chant back “Oh, Oh, Oh” after which he said “And that is how you find white people in the woods”. My best friend and I laughed our way through the hour and a half show and afterwards invited friends and family to join us for future shows. It is a great event for anyone looking to have fun and break the stress of a long work week.

Now just a simple request to future guests – yes ,comedians coming into Philadelphia know that we are a tough crowd. We are the city known for booing Santa and if you do not believe me just watch get Bill Burr’s rant on our audiences. But just a simple note to the crowd, and in specifically to the crabby old lady up front.... If you don't like a joke, don't feel the need to laugh and, whatever you do, don't heckle the comedian unless you are prepared for him to give it back.

Tickets are $25 a piece but use promo code comedy and get tickets for 15 bucks, which is honestly a steal for a night of laughter and entertainment. Bring your friends, your significant other or just come out by yourself and make a friend at the show. It is worth the money and a really great way to spend a Thursday night. J. This class was more than we ever imagined, the instructor opened a whole new dimension to wine tasting. We felt like we were in Europe, feeling the soil with our hands, smelling the fresh vineyard air; learning, tasting about wine and food pairings. Learning about the history of winemaking and the romance of drinking wine; you did not want the class to end. This place is a treasure of knowledge, walk in with an open mind and be willing to learn the information destroys many stereotypes we had about wines.Gregnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29962318.post-91234436204487478132012-02-21T23:36:04.572-05:002012-02-21T23:36:04.572-05:00This place "rocks" we were in on a Satur...This place "rocks" we were in on a Saturday evening before dinner. The staff was superb, balancing a wine class with food preperation and keeping the bar patrons happy. We entered the store casually dressed and the young chippies didn't greet us or look our way, but when a younger, trendy-looking couple walked in, they were more than happy to fawn over them. It's a shame, as we usually buy a case or 2 of wine to give out during the holidays. They lost out on a couple hundred dollar sale. I get better service at the State Store.
