My sister who lives in Phoenixville sent me this link after I told her about the terrible experience I had at their Rittenhouse Square location this weekend.

The service was slow and the waiter was horrifically rude. We came in an hour before closing and after it took us 45 minutes to get our dinner crepes he let us sit there for 20+ minutes with empty plates in front of us, despite the fact that were were one of two tables left in the place. (My boyfriend even left at one point to feed the meter a few blocks away and came back and our plates were still not cleared.)

When he finally decided to come over to us we asked if we could order dessert and he sniped that the kitchen was closed. So I got upset and told him I wanted to speak to a manager and he started yelling at us and told us to get out. I have NEVER been treated like that at a restaurant and as a former restaurant server myself, I can tell you that's not how you treat customers.

I am making it my personal mission to start a bad word of mouth campaign on them! I hope all their stupid locations go out of business!

A new cheese shop would be just what we need. The last one did great business, it was just b/c of family considerations that it was closed. If anyone knows a person interested in opening a cheese shop, please suggest phoenixville. As long as it is on par with what we had, they would do a profitable business here in town. As it stands, I don't even know where the closest cheese shop (focusing only on selling cheese, and maybe crackers to go with it) is anymore.

Sorry Kelsma03, Liki does not count as a Phoenixville business to me any more than Redner's Market or Staples does. It needs to be in the borough, capiche? Otherwise we can just eat Mexican food at that famous Phoenixville eatery, Taco Bell.

I agree the Creperie did themselves in with their poor service and her verbal nastiness to the staff (which could be heard often in the seating area). It is a shame. The interior was beautiful and the idea of a creperie was a good one. The actual crepes never lived up to the dream.

As for the bakery - I stopped in once to ask if she baked rolls and she looked at me like I had two heads, LOL. Was that too much to ask? I never went back. I can say that I did the same at JoeysII. I made a comment to the owner when the store first opened up and he looked right through me. After gettin my wing orders mixed up a few more times I decided to go elsewhere. Thats the way it goes.

If you can wait until Saturdays, the Phoenixville Farmer's Market hosts the Whole Hearted Baking Company, and they make ALL this stuff and more (read - awesome sticky buns and brownies!). And they're all made from organic ingredients, as many of them as possible bought locally. The market is great fun, and it's all fresh and local. You can even order cakes from Whole Hearted.

A bakery would be a perfect addition. I have tried Elizas as I do support local businesses. I ordered a cake and two dozen cookies for a family birthday several days in advance. When I arrived to pick up the order, I was nonchalantly told they "didn't have time" to make both types of cookies, so they only had one dozen for me. They never let me know in advance. Then, when we cut the birthday cake, the birthday person, had hair in their slice. Needless to say, I have never returned.

The creperie definitely did themselves in with their lack of service (even when we were the only ones in there...what were they doing?). I went there many times becasue the food was delicious, but knew it was only a matter of time due to the poor service. What a shame.

Eliza's is an amazing bakery. I ordered a grooms cake from there for my wedding. My husband is obsessed with the Eagles so the cake was a 3D Eagles helmet. It looked gorgeous and was so reasonably priced I was amazed. The cakee tasted fantastic too. I actually liked that cake better then my wedding cake as did most of my family.

I would LOVE to see a sushi/hibachi place to up in town.

My wife and I, along with 10 others from our family went for brunch shortly after they opened. 2 of us did not receive our meals...no big deal I thought, there is plenty of food for everyone. The bill comes and the missing items are still there. I told our server (who was very sorry about the mistake) and she informed the boss (I assume she was the owner). She proceeded to tell the server that she had made the items and that we were to pay. 12 people clearly recognized that two of us did not receive our meals. Having been the biz for 20 years I have never seen or heard a manager much less the owner act this way not only towards the guests but also to her employee. We never returned and I made sure to relay the story to the rest of my P-Ville neighbors.

Agreed - food was good but service was slow. A bakery (like the Bakery House in Bryn Mawr) would be an excellent as would a butcher or a brunchy/lunch place. Nudies is sub par and Black Lab overpriced. We definitely don't need any more gastropubs or cafés.

I liked the food, but for the price, there just wasn't much of it. I agree with TacoSlinger -- there wasn't much filling (although what was there was good) and the service was always poor (extremely slow). It just never made the family short list because we could eat better for the same price (Think the Pizza Kitchen).
